A seven-day yacht charter from Bali to Komodo typically runs in three phases: a departure day from Benoa with a shakedown leg to Lombok, one to two days east along Lombok and Sumbawa, then three to five days inside Komodo National Park before flying back to Bali from Labuan Bajo in about seventy minutes. Most weeks run one-way, since a round trip would eat into park time.

Day 1: Benoa to Northwest Lombok
Provisioning, fuel, and clearances should be finished before guests step aboard, since day one is too expensive to spend at a fuel dock. Most captains time departure around the Lombok Strait, where a strong current can add hours if crossed at the wrong tide. The first night is usually spent on Lombok’s northwest coast, around the Gili Islands or Medana Bay, close enough to Benoa to fix any issue before the boat is truly remote.
Day 2: Lombok to Moyo Island
Day two is the longest coastal run: east along Lombok’s north shore, across the Alas Strait, to Moyo Island off Sumbawa. The dry-season trades leave this northern route in workable lee, the main reason it beats Sumbawa’s exposed south side. Moyo rewards the miles, with clear-water reef for a late snorkel and a tender run to the Mata Jitu waterfall; most yachts anchor here overnight.
Day 3: Satonda and the Night Passage
A short morning hop brings you to Satonda, a volcanic island whose collapsed crater holds a saltwater lake, with a reef for a mid-morning snorkel. From there, the run to the park’s boundary is usually an afternoon-into-night passage past Sangeang Api and Gili Banta, with guests waking on day four to Komodo’s ridgelines off the bow, the case for a crewed vessel with a proper watch.
Days 4–6: Inside Komodo National Park
Komodo National Park was established in 1980 and inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991, covering Komodo, Rinca, Padar, and many smaller islands, the only place to walk, with a ranger, among wild Komodo dragons. Three days is the comfortable minimum, since anchorages sit close together and the days run on activities rather than passages.
Dragon Treks

Padar, Pink Beach, and Diving
The Padar hike, thirty to forty-five minutes up a stepped trail, is best done at first light, before the day-trip fleet arrives from Labuan Bajo. Pink Beach, near Loh Liang, fills the middle of a day with rose-tinted sand and an easy house reef. For diving, Karang Makassar (Manta Point) is a drift where reef mantas gather; Batu Bolong and Gili Lawa Laut suit divers, though currents mean timing dives around slack water. Day 7: Labuan Bajo and the Flight Home
The last morning is a short run to Labuan Bajo on Flores, the park’s gateway town. Guests disembark, and Komodo Airport puts them back in Bali in about seventy minutes on one of several daily flights. The yacht then continues east or repositions to Bali, a two- to three-day leg one-way charterers pay for.
Practical Notes: Season, Fees, and Cost
The season runs April through November, with the calmest windows in May–June and September–October; the December–March monsoon makes the route a poor choice. Park fees are charged per person per day, plus extra charges for trekking, diving, and vessel entry; rates change, so confirm current figures when booking.
Charter cost varies too widely with vessel size and standard for one honest figure. As a market range, crewed yachts on this route are generally quoted from roughly USD 1,500–3,000 per day at the smaller end up to USD 10,000 or more at the top of the fleet, plus park fees, fuel, and crew gratuities. One-way weeks cost more than a round trip from Labuan Bajo; the trade is the passage itself.
