Fuel Bunkering & Technical Support for Yachts in Bali and Komodo Waters

Fuel bunkering for superyachts in Bali runs through Benoa Harbour on the island’s south coast, and it is arranged, not simply ordered. Foreign-flagged vessels cannot legally take Indonesia’s subsidised retail diesel; every litre must come as non-subsidised industrial diesel (HSD, broadly the local equivalent of marine gas oil) supplied by a licensed distributor with the correct documentation. Deliveries arrive by road tanker to the quay for most yachts, or by barge alongside for larger uplifts. As a planning figure for 2026, delivered prices at Benoa generally sit between USD 0.90 and 1.20 per litre, tracking Pertamina’s posted industrial price for the month, the volume you take, and how the fuel reaches you.

Bali Yacht Concierge runs the engineering side of a Bali call from one desk. We coordinate the bunkering itself, source spares, filters, and consumables, and act as your liaison with repair yards and marine technicians, working through the Juara Holding Group network that has operated in Bali and the Komodo region since 2015, including the boat-services arm of Komodo Luxury, which maintains and services vessels across Bali and Labuan Bajo. We are a coordination desk, not a fuel company or a shipyard: our job is to put the right licensed supplier, the right parts, and the right technicians alongside your vessel at the right time, with pricing confirmed in writing before anything is delivered.

This page is written for captains, chief engineers, and management companies planning a Bali stop before a Komodo or Raja Ampat leg. The guest-facing side of our work (itineraries, provisioning, VIP arrivals) lives elsewhere on this site. What follows is the machinery side: what the desk covers, how it works inside the group, what things realistically cost, and how to book.

What the Fuel and Technical Desk Covers

Bunkering coordination at Benoa

We confirm your required quantity and grade, obtain a written quotation from a licensed non-subsidised distributor, schedule the delivery window against your berth or anchorage plan, and supervise on the day. Supervision means the practical things that protect you: verifying seals and truck compartment soundings before and after transfer, checking the metered figures against the bunker delivery note, and holding retained samples where the supplier provides them. If your engineer wants an independent fuel test kit run before the product goes into your tanks, we arrange that too. For volumes beyond what road tankers handle sensibly (typically above roughly 20,000 litres), we coordinate barge delivery alongside, which needs more notice but removes the multi-truck logistics problem.

Spares, filters, and consumables sourcing

Indonesia is better supplied than many crews expect, but the stock is scattered between Bali, Surabaya, and Jakarta. Our desk sources filter elements, impellers, belts, anodes, lubricants, coolant, gaskets, and general engine-room consumables from local distributors first, because local stock arrives in days rather than weeks. When a part genuinely has to come from Singapore, Europe, or the manufacturer, we manage the courier import: paperwork, customs handling, and delivery to the vessel or to an agreed forwarding point in Labuan Bajo if you have already sailed east. We tell you honestly at quotation stage whether an item is on-island, domestic, or an import, and what each route does to the timeline.

Repair-yard and technician liaison

For work beyond the crew’s scope (welding, fibreglass and gelcoat repair, machining, electrical faults, air-conditioning and refrigeration, or scheduled engine service), we bring in technicians and yard capacity through the group’s marine operations, principally Komodo Luxury’s boat repair service, which handles this daily for the fleet operators in the region. The value of routing it through one desk is accountability: you deal with us, we hold the yard or technician to the agreed scope and schedule, and you are not negotiating in a second language while trying to keep a departure date.

How We Arrange It Through the Juara Holding Group Ecosystem

Bali Yacht Concierge is a specialist desk within Juara Holding Group, a Bali-based group operating in marine tourism and vessel services since 2015. We do not own fuel trucks, a chandlery, or a yard, and we do not claim to. What the group does have is the working relationships that make an engineering stop go smoothly: licensed fuel distributors who serve Benoa regularly, the boat-services and repair teams inside Komodo Luxury that keep working vessels running in Bali and Labuan Bajo, and agents in the harbours you will actually visit. When you send us a requirement, we place it with the operator inside or alongside the group best positioned to deliver it, put the quotation in front of you with the supplier identified, and stay on the job as your single point of contact until it is signed off. One WhatsApp thread, one accountable desk, several specialist operators behind it.

Realistic Price Guidance

Figures below are planning ranges drawn from current market conditions, not fixed tariffs. Fuel in particular moves with Pertamina’s monthly posted prices and with your volume; every job is quoted in writing before you commit, and our current coordination fees are listed on the pricing page.

ItemTypical range (USD)Notes
Non-subsidised diesel, delivered Benoa by road tanker0.90 – 1.20 per litreFollows Pertamina’s posted industrial price; practical minimum around 5,000 litres per truck
Barge delivery alongsidePer-litre rate plus 500 – 1,500 mobilisationSensible from roughly 20,000 litres; needs 5–7 days’ notice
Bunkering coordination and dockside supervision150 – 400 per operationScales with volume and complexity; quoted with the fuel
Marine technician or engineer, local day rate150 – 450 per dayPlus travel and materials; specialist trades at the upper end
Spares sourcing and import handling10 – 20% handling on invoiced costPlus courier charges; import lead time typically 3–10 working days
Top-up fuel deliveries in Labuan Bajo1.10 – 1.40 per litreSmaller volumes by truck or drum; plan the main uplift in Bali

Two honest caveats. First, Indonesia does not offer the certified low-sulphur ECA-grade products you may bunker in Singapore, so if your engine warranties or filters demand a particular specification, tell us before we quote and we will confirm in writing exactly what the distributor can document. Second, nobody can hold a fuel price for weeks in this market; quotations are valid for the stated window and re-confirmed near delivery.

How to Book

  1. Send the requirement. Message the desk on WhatsApp at +62 811-3941-4563 or email bd@juaraholding.com with vessel name and flag, LOA, estimated fuel quantity and grade, your ETA and intended berth or anchorage, and any spares or repair items with part numbers where you have them.
  2. Receive a written quotation. We come back with supplier, price, delivery method, and timeline for each line item, usually within one working day for fuel, and as soon as availability is confirmed for parts and technicians.
  3. Confirm and schedule. On your written confirmation we lock the delivery window, coordinate with your agent and the harbour, and share the day-of contact plan with your chief engineer.
  4. Delivery and sign-off. Our coordinator attends the bunkering or work session, and you sign off against the bunker delivery note or the agreed scope before the job closes.

For questions about payment methods, cancellation terms, and how quotations work across the rest of our services, the FAQ page covers the desk-wide policies; the questions below deal specifically with fuel and technical work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a foreign-flagged yacht legally buy fuel in Bali?

Yes, provided it buys non-subsidised industrial diesel through a licensed distributor. Subsidised retail diesel is restricted to eligible Indonesian users, and taking it exposes the vessel and supplier to penalties. Every delivery we arrange is non-subsidised product with a bunker delivery note and supplier invoice, so your paperwork stands up to inspection.

What fuel grade is actually available, and how clean is it?

The standard product is Indonesian HSD, broadly comparable to marine gas oil but not certified to the low-sulphur specifications you may be used to from Singapore. Quality from licensed distributors is generally sound, but we still recommend supervised soundings, retained samples, and letting your fuel polishing and filtration do its job. If your engineer requires a test before transfer, we arrange a kit or an independent check.

Can we bunker in Labuan Bajo instead of Bali?

You can, but treat it as a top-up rather than a main uplift. Labuan Bajo deliveries come by smaller truck or drum, at higher per-litre cost and lower volumes, and availability tightens in high season. The pattern that works is a full uplift at Benoa before departure, then a planned top-up in Labuan Bajo coordinated in advance through the same desk.

How much notice do you need?

For truck deliveries at Benoa, 48–72 hours is comfortable once quantities are confirmed. Barge deliveries need 5–7 days. Spares depend entirely on whether the item is on-island or an import: hours for common filter elements held locally, up to two weeks for a courier import cleared through customs. Repair scheduling depends on scope; send photographs and a description early and we will give you a realistic slot rather than an optimistic one.

Can you arrange repairs while we are cruising Komodo?

Yes. Because the group’s boat-services teams are based in both Bali and Labuan Bajo, we can stage a technician or parts to meet you in Labuan Bajo mid-itinerary, or book yard time for your return to Bali. Tell us your route and dates and we will plan the intervention around them instead of forcing a detour.

Do you mark up the fuel price?

No. Fuel is invoiced at the distributor’s quoted rate, which you see in writing with the supplier identified. Our income on a bunkering job is the coordination and supervision fee shown in the quotation and on the pricing page, a structure we prefer because it keeps our incentive on service, not on litres.

Put One Desk on the Engineering Side of Your Bali Call

Send your vessel details, fuel requirement, and any parts or repair list to the desk on WhatsApp at +62 811-3941-4563 or by email at bd@juaraholding.com. You will get a written quotation with named suppliers, realistic timelines, and a single point of contact who stays on the job until your chief engineer signs it off, so the Bali stop shortens your worry list before Komodo, rather than adding to it.
