Concierge Desk

What a yacht concierge does

One desk for everything around the vessel except operating her — formalities, berths, provisioning, fuel, crew and the guest programme.

In short

A yacht concierge is a single desk that runs everything around a yacht and her people that is not driving the boat.

  • Owners use one to protect their time and their asset.
  • Captains use one to compress a port call.
  • Charterers use one to turn a boat into a holiday.

The scope

Six work streams a desk owns

A yacht touches dozens of suppliers in every port. These are the six a full-service desk quotes on one account.

Formalities

Arrival declarations, temporary import, visas and crew papers — filed with a licensed agent where the port requires one.

Berthing

Marina berths, moorings and anchorage plans matched to draft, LOA and the guest schedule.

Provisioning

Galley, cellar, specialty diets and interior stores, consolidated into one delivery window.

Fuel & technical

Bunkering with quality control, engineers, spares sourcing and yard liaison.

Crew logistics

Rotations, flights, accommodation, medical and welfare support.

Guest experience

Arrivals, dining, excursions, events and villa pairing around the cruise.

A narrower luxury concierge may only handle the guest stream. Ask any provider which of the six they own, and which they subcontract blind.

Three different jobs

Concierge, agent, manager

The three are routinely confused, and on a superyacht they stay separate. The concierge is the one that keeps the other two synchronised.

On a small yacht one provider may wear all three hats. This desk covers the concierge and agent roles together, which saves a captain a second relationship.

Who actually needs one

Three situations. If none of them describe you, you may only need a desk for the legs where the marina ends.

  1. 01

Owners based away from the boat

A standing desk for caretaking, accounts and reporting — here, the Owner Care Program.

  2. 02

Captains on a delivery or cruise

A port call compressed: clearance pre-lodged, fuel tested, provisions on the dock in one window.

  3. 03

    Charter guests and brokers

The trip itself curated — vessel, route, chef, events — against a fixed guest-day rate.

In Indonesia, the point where a marina stops covering you is roughly one day east of Bali.

What it costs

Three fee shapes, briefly

Concierge fees follow the same three shapes worldwide. These are the working bands in Bali.

Phinisi and motor vessels at anchor off a Komodo island

Per port call

USD 1,500–3,500 per call

Visiting yachts and superyachts calling at Bali.

Phinisi lying at rest in flat water between charters

Per month

from USD 950 per month

Owners basing or leaving a yacht in Bali.

Guests on the aft deck of a yacht at sunset

Per guest day

USD 120–250 per guest / day

Guests and brokers running a trip from Bali.

Working bands, not quotations, and always plus third-party costs at documented cost.

In Indonesian waters

How the Bali desk runs it

Indonesia rewards preparation: seventeen thousand islands, a formalities regime that moved to electronic pre-arrival declarations when the old CAIT permit was retired, and a supply chain that thins fast east of Benoa.

The answer is one pre-arrival file per vessel — formalities, berth, provisioning, fuel, crew, guest programme — built before the yacht reaches the approaches, then run by a named duty officer around the clock.

Speak to a working desk

The fastest way to understand the service is to brief one. Send your vessel, dates and what you need handled — the reply is an itemised USD quote, usually the same working day.
