Helicopter on the pad before a transfer to a yacht at anchor

An air bridge, not a single flight

Labuan Bajo is 250 nautical miles east of Bali. Fixed-wing east, rotary at each end, every segment timed to the vessel's actual anchorage.

In short

An aircraft that lands on time at an empty jetty has not saved anyone anything.

  • No operator runs scheduled seaplane service on the Bali–Komodo route.
  • Bali to Komodo direct by helicopter is possible and rarely sensible — a long over-water rotary flight at a multiple of the cost, for a slower trip.
  • We do not operate aircraft. Every flight is flown by licensed Indonesian operators.

The bridge

Three segments, one schedule

The working spine is fixed-wing. Rotary earns its premium at the ends.

  1. 01

    Bali-side helicopter

Airport to villa, villa to a helipad near your departure point. Ten to twenty-five minutes, removing the one variable nobody can predict: the run from the airport to Uluwatu or Serangan takes twenty minutes or two hours depending on the day.

  2. 02

    Fixed-wing east to Labuan Bajo

Denpasar to Komodo Airport in about seventy minutes. Scheduled services run many times daily and we block seats on the departures that fit the vessel's movements; where the timetable does not fit, a turboprop or light jet leaves when you do — which also solves the baggage problem scheduled flights create for dive gear and camera cases.

  3. 03

    Helicopter over Komodo

Scenic routes past Padar's ridgelines and Pink Beach, timed to end where your yacht actually is that afternoon rather than where the brochure assumed. A forty-five-minute flight replaces a three-hour repositioning cruise, and produces the best photographs of the trip while it does so.

Also included: route planning built against the captain's float plan, ground handling and landing permissions, tender coordination so the boat is at the landing point when the aircraft is, baggage logistics for anything over rotary limits, and one thread with a named coordinator when weather forces a replan.

Working figures

What each segment costs

Planning ranges, not quotes. Pricing moves with aircraft type, season, fuel and routing, and exact numbers are confirmed in writing before anything is committed.

Bali helicopter transfer

Guide price
USD 1,500–3,500 / movement
Typical arrangement
Private, ten to twenty-five minutes. Airport, villa or marina.

Bali–Labuan Bajo, scheduled

Guide price
USD 100–250 / seat
Typical arrangement
Blocked seats, about seventy minutes.

Bali–Labuan Bajo, private charter

Guide price
USD 9,000–20,000 one way
Typical arrangement
Turboprop or light jet, on your schedule. Solves the baggage problem.

Komodo scenic helicopter

Guide price
USD 1,000–1,700 / seat
Typical arrangement
Set routes from Labuan Bajo. Whole-aircraft charters from around USD 5,000.

One honest comparison: for a party of six with luggage, a chartered turboprop plus a fast tender from Labuan Bajo is usually the better value, and we will say so. The helicopter earns its premium when time is genuinely scarce, when the anchorage is far from the port, or when the flight itself over Padar at golden hour is part of what you are buying.

How it is arranged

Why capacity, not price, is the constraint

Air capacity in eastern Indonesia is thin. There are a limited number of helicopters based where you need them, and in high season the good departure slots go to whoever asked first.

The advantage is structural rather than magical: because the operators sit inside the same group ecosystem, we see availability early, know which airframe is positioned where, and can hold a slot while a charter party finalises dates. When plans change — and with weather they do — we are renegotiating with colleagues rather than strangers.
